Castroville State Bank was originally founded by a group of local citizens who recognized the need for a banking facility in Castroville. After traveling to Austin to meet with officials of the Texas Banking Commission, the delegation received approval to begin state banking operations on January 14, 1959.

Less than three months later, Castroville State Bank opened its doors for business in what was once known as The Old Hagan’s Place. The one-time popular saloon and pitch parlor, which was built in 1907, still houses the Bank’s Boardroom to this day.

Although the Bank has undergone several additions and remodels over the years, our main focus continues to be commitment to the community and the people that live in it. Not only do we offer the new technology and products people desire, but we also strive to maintain the small-town service we have always been known for.
